Kambi Festival of Sportsbook: Technology trends and regulation at the forefront as stakeholders from across the industry attend inaugural event

Sports betting industry stakeholders from around the globe tuned in last week to the inaugural Kambi Festival of Sportsbook, a week-long content series hosted by the world’s trusted sportsbook partner.

Subject experts from across the Kambi business and wider sports betting industry shared their insights in an extensive series of presentations, with technology trends, the US market and the factors that go into delivering a high-performance sportsbook all taking centre stage across the Festival’s five-day span.

Kambi’s SVP Risk Management Tom Daniel and SVP Product Compliance Oliver Lamb delivered a session on the advantages of a partner network, providing an overview of how Kambi’s 30-plus partners benefit from the data-driven insights across trading and risk management generated throughout our network.

Having become the first sports betting technology supplier to attain membership of the International Betting Integrity Association, Oliver Lamb expanded on Kambi’s self-regulating approach to integrity and sustainability.

With more than 50 events blocked per day and 15 investigations conducted every week, Lamb illustrated how Kambi’s dedicated sportsbook control function works to the benefit of our partners, regulators and sports governing bodies alike.

Meanwhile, Competitive Intelligence Analyst Kevin Cunningham delivered a comprehensive look at the US market, going in-depth on the progress of the sports betting opportunity in a market that where handle has increased by 225% since 2018 and remains in the very early stages of growth.

“It was a privilege to come together with our partners and the wider industry during the Festival to examine regulation, trends and paths to growth in sports betting.

The growing competitiveness of the global sports betting market is placing the need for a high-performance sportsbook into sharper focus, and James Letchford, Kambi’s Head of Pre-Sales Solutions, offered an insightful presentation on the intricacies of how Kambi builds its technology, and how Kambi’s partners can most effectively harness our sportsbook to realise their potential.

The week was rounded off with a session delving into Kambi’s annual NFL Season Report, with Kambi’s US Director Matthew Hosman hosting a look at betting trends and player data from across a 2020/21 season that culminated in Tom Brady adding a seventh Super Bowl ring to his collection

Gerard Starkey, SVP Marketing at Kambi, commented: “It was a privilege to come together with our partners and the wider industry during the Festival to examine regulation, trends and paths to growth in sports betting.

“We were delighted to take attendees through the technology and expertise which underpin our position as the world’s trusted sportsbook partner, and thank you to all who joined us over the course of the week.”
