Kambi makes Pennsylvania debut with  Rush Street Gaming’s Sportsbook launches

Rivers Casino and SugarHouse Casino enjoy busy opening week

Kambi expanded its American footprint this month with simultaneous launches of its on-property Sportsbook in two of the most popular casinos in Pennsylvania, both owned by Kambi customer Rush Street Gaming.

Following a thorough two-day testing phase, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) gave Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh and SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia the green light to make their full launches on 15 December.

Having only received its Conditional License from the PGCB on 28 November, Kambi displayed its operational expertise by installing its modern on-property product suite and training casino staff to ensure the two sportsbooks were up and running just two weeks later.

Saturday’s grand openings came ahead of a busy weekend of sporting action, particularly at Rivers Casino, situated just a stone’s throw away from the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Heinz Field stadium, which hosted the NFL match-up of the Steelers versus the New England Patriots on Sunday.

The Rivers Sportsbook is offering patrons six Kambi self-service betting terminals (SSBTs), a dozen over-the-counter points of sale and Kambi’s customisable digital signage, which is located throughout the casino’s temporary sportsbook space.

The SugarHouse property also provides six SSBTs, 12 points of sale and digital signage and, like Rivers, is currently located in a temporary space. However, both SugarHouse and Rivers are in the process of constructing larger permanent sportsbook areas for next year.

Online and mobile launches should follow in 2019, pending authorisation from the PGCB.

Max Meltzer, Kambi Chief Commercial Officer, said: “The launch of the Kambi Sportsbook in Pennsylvania this past week has once again demonstrated our ability to bring customers to market both quickly and with a high quality product.”

“To gain regulatory approval and launch two on-property sportsbooks simultaneously within a short space of time illustrates why Kambi has become the number choice for operators seeking a trusted sports betting partner, not just in the US but across the world.”

“I thank the PGCB for their rigorous but fair application of regulatory checks and measures and am confident our fantastic customer, Rush Street Gaming and its  teams at Rivers and SugarHouse, will provide patrons with the most exciting sports betting experiences the state has to offer.”

Richard Schwartz, President of Rush Street Interactive, commented:  “We are excited to have made our brick & mortar sports betting debut at our sister properties in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.  The is a very proud moment for all involved and, in partnership with Kambi, we will make this a great success.  The response to the opening weekend was beyond our expectations

The on-property openings follow the successful launches of Rush Street Interactive’s (RSI) Kambi-powered online sportsbooks earlier this year, with RushBet in Colombia and PlaySugarHouse.com in New Jersey’s regulated gaming market both building top positions in their respective markets.

The RSI product is a seamless intergration between Kambi’s market-leading Sportsbook and RSI’s high-quality iGaming platform, creating a premium turnkey solution which could be leveraged by operators in other regulated markets.
